Have you been called by BT or Microsoft telling you you have computer problems?

This is a common scam going round at the moment. It's not BT or any other reputable company. Just politely hang up and tell them you'll get a professional to take a look.

They will usually want you to disable your virus protection and visit their web site - presumably to download their own virus.

There are many stories about such calls here, give them a read some are quite amusing.
